A Setcom experience

2019 Great Lakes Police Motorcycle Training Seminar (GLPMTS)

February 28th, 2019 Posted in Rodeos

Good afternoon,

My name is Andrew Hinds, I am a police officer with the Greater Sudbury Police Service . I am also the chair of the 2019 Great Lakes Police Motorcycle Training Seminar (GLPMTS)

We are in our 21st year. Our event was created to provide police services from across the province standardized training for motorcycle deployment. Our committee is comprised of police officers from across the province of Ontario and our event moves to a different city each year and hosted by a different police agency each year. We are also currently the only police motorcycle rodeo in Eastern Canada. The GLPMTS has grown throughout the years and now draws participants from all across North America. In the past we have had officers from Quebec, Halifax, Michigan state, New York state, California, Great Brittan, Aruba and of course, our motor officers from across Ontario. For the first time, the 2019 GLPMTS will be opening a civilian class where non police members can participate, learn and compete alongside of police motor officers.

GLPMTS will be held in Sudbury, Ontario from August 14th to August 17th 2019. This four day event will have guest speakers providing educational presentations relating to safe motorcycle operation, provide hands on instructional training and finish with exciting motorcycle competitions to give participants an opportunity to put their new skills to use. Our event will be held at 2416 Long lake road, which is a large shopping complex. This will be a high traffic area with a lot of exposure to the public. GLPMTS supports all of our sponsors through promotion of their brands onsite during the event and through our website and social media.

Our event operates through the support of community partners and businesses. All of our proceeds go to charity. Some of the 2019 charities will be the Ontario Police Memorial Fund, Sudbury Food Bank and the Sudbury Jumpstart program. I am asking if Setcom would consider becoming one of our 2019 GLPMTS sponsors. I believe your product fits perfectly with our event as it is geared to the police motor officer community. We are looking for a financial contribution to assist in the costs of running this event or product that can be used , given away as prizes or added to our registration swag bags. As a sponsor, you are also welcome to attend our event and put your product on display/sale to the participants and public.

My goal is to make 2019 a monumental year in funds raised for charity. With community partners such as Setcom, I believe we can achieve this and leave Sudbury’s event with a legacy that other cities will strive to replicate. Further information can be found on our website www.glpmts.ca

I look forward to discussing this partnership more.

Thank you for your support,

Andrew Hinds
